Motivation Tips from ApplyBoard's Meganne Hayward

ApplyBoard's mission and vision to educate the world is what sparked her interest in applying for a role in the industry.  Although she had little experience in the tech world when she started, Meganne says each part of the journey has been exciting and rewarding. 

"As soon as I started, I could tell it was a great environment to be in because the work is impactful and the culture was positive. Tech is great if you thrive in a fast-paced environment, constant change and in a collaborative atmosphere. Each day is exciting and there are always opportunities for innovation."

Meganne's advice for women who want to excel in their careers is to be confident, always do your best, ask for feedback, and make time to focus on YOU.  Reflecting on your experiences frequently is also a great way to identify areas of opportunity.

She believes businesses should be fostering open, equal environments for collaboration and professional improvement for their employees. "Never get too comfortable.  It is good to push yourself to do more and to want more. It’s important to challenge yourself. That’s how you’ll grow."

What motivates Meganne?  Number one on her list is making an impact!  She enjoys the work that she does because she is making an impact in a student’s life every single day. She also is helping partners, processes, and team members which is very rewarding.
